Mathay health plan for QC

NDEPENDENT QUEZON CITY mayoral bet Mel Mathay Jr. vowed to upgrade the city’s health care program, saying residents can look forward to more benefits when he returns to his former post.

A health card works best with a system in place.

“My opponents keep on saying that it’s just a matter of realigning the budget and giving away cards, but it is not as simple as that. We first need to create a health program designed specifically for Quezon City,” he said.

“We also need to improve the quality of our public hospitals and enter into a mutually beneficial agreement with private medical institutions as well. Because no matter how good the system is, if the accredited hospitals are lacking in facilities, these cards will just be a useless piece of paper.”

“We already have the Quezon City General Hospital in the 1st district, we can partner with FEU-NMRF Medical Center for the 2nd district, the Quirino Medical Center for the 3rd district, and East Avenue Medical Center for the 4th district,” Mathay noted.

“With the right system in place we could even revive the medical assistance program at St. Luke’s Hospital, which is one of the best in the country.”

Blogger's event by Mel Mathay

Last April 30 me and mt friends attended a bloggers dinner at the residence of Mel Mathay at Green Meadows QC, the dinner started at 8 pm. The food was good and decent, we are very well attended by the family of Mel Mathay. They are very accomodating and they welcomed us in their home warmly. After the nice dinner, Mr. Mel Mathay started the program.. He shook our hands and thanking us for coming. A Q&A video was shown, after that Mr. Mel Mathay gave a short speech. No fuss we went straight to Q and A. Mr. Mathay welcomed all our questions. He answered all the questions honestly. There are some "delicate" Questions about Herbert Bautista and Mike defensor but he handled the question very well..."walang siraan". Many of the bloggers ask him about his platform and what are his plans if he is elected mayor of QC again. He kicked some humorous answers that made us laugh. We went home around 1030 pm. It was quite late but it was worth it. Honestly i enjoyed the night because we really felt that we are welcome. The good wife of Mel Mathay is very nice and Pretty . The only bad thing that happened that night is i got lost in green meadows. it was embarrasing but at the end i finally found the 3rd gate. I t was worth spending my time.
Thanks for the nice food!

Mel Mathay the new mr. palengke?

Mel Mathay visited Tandang Sora market last april 25 and gave away aprons. The people who worked at the tandang sora market welcome Mel mathay warmly. They expressed their supports and they are happy to see Mel mathay. Many people working their knows Mel Mathay and maybe he helped them before. One thing is for sure, those people believes in him and they know that he can do more for QC. From the forums that i attended Mel Mathay stressed that he wants to prioritize the little entrepreneurs like the one who are selling in wet markets because let's face it most of the population of qc consist of little entrpreneurs that have simple lives.
Kudos and way to go Mr.Mathay!

Arrogance not helping...

I read something in people journal last april 28 that herbert bautista bullied a security gaurd because the security guard doesnt want to open the gate. The security guard doesnt want to open the gate because they are not a legit homeowner. It seems that bistek doesnt have enough patience to understand that the man is just doing his job. Maybe Herbert Bautista is used to have special treatment and he is not expecting that this hardworking security guard will not do the same...
Cmom man he is just DOING HIS JOB! As a public servant you should be proud of this security guard because he is following exact orders..and that's right...but bistek just can't do the right thing...The security guard have no intentions of messing with you knowing that you are the vice mayor of Quezon City. Think for awhile..the people of qc is very VERY disappointed.

Bistek isnabero!

Three Musketeers?

This is a picture from the mayoral forum last week.
I'd like to see them as the tree musketeers...why?
Because on their speeches they are basically saying the same thing...that they want to serve the people and that's what the three musketeers right?
Let's give them their characters

Mike Defensor: D'artagnan: He is very close to "QUEEN" and she will trade everything for her. He is willing to sacrifice and trade his name, his reputation and even his friends for the "Queen"... He betray his oath of allegiance to the other musketeer and to the people because all he cares about is what the queen wants.

Mel Mathay: Aramis : He is an Old soldier and now a holy man, he is a priest of the Jesuits order. He Initiates a plot to overthrow the "King" with the help of his old comrades for he is the secret leader of the order of Jesuits because he can see that the way the "king" rules the Kingdom is just wrong...He wants to make a difference and he want to give the people service and justice.

Jhonny Chang: Porthos : Also a musketeer. The least smart or cunning of the group, he makes up for it with a heart that matches his gigantic size.

You see...fits well...
what do you think?

Mathay over Bistek?

There was an article in INQ.net that reveals that Herbert bautista is the mastermind to the black propaganda campaign over the former Mayor of QC Mel Mathay.
here is a piece from the article:

THE CAMP OF QUEZON CITY MAYORAL bet Mel Mathay Jr. on Saturday slammed what they claimed was a black propaganda campaign being waged against him by Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista, who is seeking the same post.

“Vice Mayor Bautista is seeing his popularity plummeting. Quezon City residents are now realizing his lack of accomplishments and misgovernance over public funds,” said a statement from the candidate’s nephew and spokesperson, Bobbit Mathay.

“Bautista now resorts to citing fictitious surveys that show him leading in the race. It’s all black propaganda,” he added.

Bautista had claimed that an SWS survey showed him ahead supposedly by a wide margin over his opponents.

But the Social Weather Stations denied releasing any election-related survey for Quezon City, according to Mathay. It said only surveys published in their website www.sws.org.ph can be considered authentic and official.

“It is now clear that Vice Mayor Bautista is running scared. The support of the people for Mel Mathay is clearly there, judging from the warm welcome we are getting all over the city,” the spokesperson said.

Is bistek threaten? He should be.

If i were bistek i'll face thee accusations and show up in forums so the people of QC will know his intentions.

"wala na naman si bistek?"

I was with my photographer friend today we went to mayoral forum @ San isidro labrador church
the title of the forum is Pagbabago:pasado ba siya sa L.A.S.E.R.Test?
Laser means ( Lifestyle, Action, Support,El ection Conduct and Reputation )
The mayoral candidates present are the following:
Mel Mathay, Mike Defensor and Johnny Chang.
Annie susano is absent and surprisingly Herbert bautista is also absent...again!
Any way the mechanics of the forum are each candidate is given 5 minutes to introduce themselves after that they are give 3 minutes each to answer a question. There are only 2 questions one is about the L.A.S.E.R. and the other question is about social issues.
ironically that's the subject matter on my theology summer..hehehe
here are some sample question on social issue:
jOHNNY CHANG:
Itinuturing mo bang banta sa pagunlad ang informal settlers?ano ang rograma mo sa kanila?
MEL MATHAY:
Ano ag magagawa para sa programang pangkabataan at kababaihan?
-emphasize on Education and the teachers.
he mentioned the longevity program for the teachers
he stated that prostitution is due to poverty
MIKE DEFENSOR:
Ano ang iyong programa sa mga matatanda na wala ng pamilya at may health problem?

After that each candidate was give one minute as their last speech
Johnny chang said we can be heroes,we can save the future by voting right.
Mel Mathay stressed that voting is our birth right and we should take care of it..
we should vote wisely because it is for our future
he also stated that we should not believe in surveys because the real survey is on May 10 the election day.
Mike Defensor spent his 1 minute with a message for Herbert Bautista.
he should attend this kind of forums because he need to explain something to the people of QC. and that he owe it to the people of QC.

Jeepney overdose!

Have you been to Project 8?
me i'm always going there because all of my friends are residing in that area...
If you've been to project 8 then i am sure that you know general street.
And i know that you noticed the number of jeepneys in that area...
They have no discipline...
double parking...
stopping anytime they want without thinking that there is another car behind them.
Parking on driveways and no parking zone...
I'm always pissed off
because i'm trying to be a good citizen here by following the SIMPLE traffic rules
but look at this drivers..i dont know how they can get away for this...
For the incoming mayor of QC
Mel Mathay, Mike D, Herbert bautista and annie susano
Please open your eyes on other areas of QC...
these are just a a sample of simple problems but cannot be resolved...
Please....do something.

6. and 6 reasons why Mel mathay

^ reason why we should consider voting for Mel Mathay this coming elections...

1. He already handled QC for 9 years before...isn't that enough experience? If he can Do it before he can do it again.

2. He did the following:
  • Smile City Homes with 1,500 units for economic and socialized housing
  • Sitio Mendez Habitat for Humanity Project for 450 residents
  • Mass Housing at the National Government Center benefitting more than 6,000 families
  • Pugad Lawin Housing Development
That's a lot of houses for the people of QC...

3. Upheld the ownership of the University of the Philippines (UP) from a syndicate who laid claim to certain parcels of the university along Commonwealth Ave. through a falsified and fake Transfer Certificate of Title etc....

4.Clearing of the North Triangle area from thousands of informal settlers and their relocation, this action was very helpful because Trinoma came...(yey!)

5. He initiated the creation of Eastwood City...One of the best places in QC to wine, dine and relax...

6.He fought against Taxes,as a matter of fact during his rein, there was no increase in taxes in QC, Efforts were made to use whatever resources where available. Isn't that great?

These are only 6 six reason,,there are more..
for more details check out his facedbook fan page or his website (wink!)

2 weeks before the elections...are you ready?

2 weeks nalang election na...
Kilala nyo na ba lahat ng kandidato nyo?
SA ilalim ay maliit na listahan na maaring makatulong. = )

Bautista, Herbert (lp) - shade (1)

Chang, Jhonny (ind) - shade (2)

Defensor, Mike (prp) - shade (3)

Mathay, Ismael (ind.) - shade (6)

Susano, Mary Ann - shade (9)

*paumanhin kay annie susano dahil hindi ako makakita ng caricature niya at kay jhonny chang.

Para sa Vice mayor

  • Bantilo, Allan Dilim "Angcoy"; (IND.)
  • Belmonte, Ma. Josefina Go "Joy"; (LP)
  • Jota, Rolando Melvida "Ka Roland"; (KBL)
  • Kapunan, Rodrigo Perez "Rod"; (IND.)
  • Malaya, Janet Meneses "Babes"; (LDP)
  • Melendez, Aiko Shimujji "Aiko"; (PMP)
  • Planas, Dave Enriquez "Dave"; (IND.)
  • Pusing, Ma. Florliza Gabornes "Flor"; (IND.)
  • Tubera, Apolinario Cabrera "Botuy"; (IND.)

Honestly yung iba hindi ko kilala...dahil sa poagka vice mayor si Joy belmonte, Aiko Melendez at Janet malaya lang ang aktibo sa kampanya.

The ugly truth..

he said...she said...
that's always the story..the man will deny and the woman will defend...
it's been like this for the longest time...
This is also applicable to what happened to mike defensor and gabriella

GABRIELA National Alliance of Women and Gabriela Women’s Party would like to clarify that we are not supporting Quezon City mayoralty candidate Mike Defensor. We are issuing this statement to belie news that came out in at least three tabloid newspapers – Remate, Unang Tiktik and Hataw- claiming that we are supporting Defensor.

No national officer of GABRIELA or Gabriela Women’s Party ever talked with Mr. Defensor or anyone from his camp.

So..the question is who did this releases?i doubt it is bistek, annie susano or mel mathay...
But i am sure that we all know who is responsible...
Mike defenson is accused of releasing a fake survey saying he is leading..so what's the reson for believing him mthis time that he is not involve in this press releases...
umamin na kasi.....
Honesty is the best Policy...right?apir!

Lies...questions and doubts...

It's a funny picture.
For me, whoever made this clearly represents what's happening right bow in qc election situation.
In my interpretation. Bistek is hiding because he doesn't want to answer the questions for him for some reason that's why i noticed that he is not present in any forums i have attented...Mike D. feels that he is leading...i dont know why he had that feeling...maybe because of the fake survey that came out before...Mel Mathay here is the underdog, he is just quiet..and focusing on his own campaign..no blah blah on other candidates what-so-ever. He is always talking about his platfornm and the things he can do for the people of QC. Annie Susano is clearly out of sight, yes...she is always out of sight...she is being to silent even in her campaign..well..that's her problem.

Another thing...

The election law actually prohibited the public disclosure of survey results, but was reversed by the Supreme Court in response to a petition from a research outfit. Election surveys have become a very profitable business, but he is not willing to pay the polling outfits just so his ranking and rating will improve.

Well, Herbert Bautista has misrepresented the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey that never released what he claims.Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista claimed that the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released last March ranks him first with a rating of 73 percent..but the camp of Mel Mathay said thay spoke to sws...and they said they did not have any local survey yet to this date...why is it there are survey's coming out...hhhmmm....the first survey is claiming mike defensor is leading..the 2nd survey said that Bistek is leqding...i'm really confuse...is that their main target to confuse the people...we...that's not good.

Mel Mathay: Age is just a number!

I read an article about QC politics, there was an interview for mel mathay and it's basicall saying that he is strong at 77 years old. he knows that he can still lead QC...
well.. for further explanation here is a glimpse of the article.

Former Quezon City Mayor and Congressman Ismael “Mel” Mathay, Jr. is raring to reclaim the reins of the premier city. Mathay is pitted against eight other candidates for mayor, many of whom are much younger than him. Despite the odds, he boasts of his strengths, claiming he has loyal and solid following in the city’s four districts.

His opponents for the mayoral post include Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista, Rep. Annie Susano, former Environment Secretary Michael Defensor and businessman/civic leader Johnny Chang.

Belying concerns about his health, the 77-year old Mathay says he is “as fit as a fiddle” and still capable of discharging the strenuous tasks of running the city government. For him, the May 10 polls are more than just a politicalexercise—it is D-Day for Quezon City. For him, solving the city’s problems is a critical ingredient in the overall well-being of Metro Manila. Quezon City, after all, is the country’s main urban hub. Having served as vice governor and de facto chief operating officer of the Metro Manila Commission (the forerunner of the Metro Manila Development Authority) during the Marcos era, Mathay knows what he is talking about.

I you want to ready the whole article here's the link:

Mike Defensor really paying?

I got this Picture @ google...along with my search i found a site where in it's asking the qc people about the mayoral candidates..There are a lot of negative comments about mike dfensor..
there is one comment saying that mike defensor is really paying because she is already been paid. It's not specified why she is paid but clearly we know what it means...right? She said that she was paid 2,500 and some are paid with 5,000.
I was WOW! he is rich alright but 2,500 to 5,00o per person! That's big!is he really that desperate to win? if he does win i'm sure he get that 2,500 to 5,000 / person "gift", and we don't want to happen right?
because resources for QC are for the people of QC!apir!

MMDA sues QC Vice mayoral bet?

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Monday filed charges against a Quezon City councilor who is running for vice mayor and two of her supporters after they allegedly attacked a group of MMDA personnel who were taking down illegally posted campaign materials.
Named in the complaint for grave coercion and direct assault filed by MMDA Legal Service head Rochell Macapili with the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office were Janet “Babes” Malaya, the running mate of Rep. Annie Susano, and two of her supporters who remain identified.
Based on the complaint, members of the MMDA’s Sidewalk Clearing Operations Group (SCOG) were taking down campaign materials posted on North Avenue near Elliptical Road at around 11 p.m. on Saturday when a white Toyota Fortuner stopped beside them.
The workers said Malaya alighted from the sport utility vehicle and shouted invectives at them while two of her supporters started shoving them away and even threatened to shoot them.
A police team, however, which was passing by the area, put a stop to the commotion.
MMDA Chair Oscar Inocentes said in a statement that his men were “nearly beaten to death” by the “arrogant and lawless goons of this equally arrogant and lawless candidate.”
“They have yet to be elected but they no longer obey the law. What more if they are already in power?” Inocentes said.
He added that the posters being taken down by the MMDA workers were displayed outside common poster areas designated by the Commission on Elections.
“We will not spare any candidate or party who will be found defying the law,” Inocentes said.
According to him, he has declared war on candidates, local officials, police and barangay personnel who will try to hamper the MMDA’s campaign against illegally posted election paraphernalia in the metropolis.
Sought for comment, Malaya said there was no basis for the case filed against her by the MMDA.
In a phone interview with the Inquirer, Malaya confirmed the North Avenue incident on Saturday although she wondered why she was being singled out by the agency.
“I introduced myself as a councilor when I saw my supporters questioning the MMDA. I asked them why only my posters were being taken down. The MMDA workers told me that [they were just following] orders. Now why only me?” she said.
“Why are they singling me out? Kawawa naman ako. I don’t think I am a violator, if any, there are many other candidates out there who should be charged first,” Malaya added.
She also said that some of the posters on display may not be hers but could have been reproduced by her rivals and posted outside designated poster areas.

Credibility!

Kris Aquino is still endorsing Herbert Bautista despite of the Plunder case he is facing right now. For me Kris Aquino should think twice about this. The credibility of her name is at stake. Since she is also endorsing her brother Noynoy, it will look like that he is endorsing a thief and this can also affect noynoy's campaign, because basically his endorser is endorsing a politician with a criminal case (plunder). the credibility of kris aquino will be questioned and that not good for noynoy...so for my opinion...drop it like it's hot baby...
= )

Coffee Belle

Right now i'm in coffee belle, it is located in front of kowloon house in west avenue and beside saisaki. I'm with my best friend and we don't recommend this coffee shop for coffee lovers...you'll be sorry...The taste of the frap type drink, hot and iced are just the same....im really disappointed...If you want to go here for the free wifi and the "tambay" better try their iced tea...the food are overpriced!65 for a sandwich..the sandwich is not that big and it is just the regular sandwich you can do at home. The place is ok (spacey) and the security guard is very acomodating but if your looking for a nice refreshing coffee drink better think twice...=)

How can we really measure?

According to the lastest sws survey released last march 2010, bistek ranked 1st with 73% rating...and 2nd is mike defensor. In my opinion, with all the things that is happening riught now like black progandas that they are throwing with each other, does this survey really credible as basis of who's leading and whose not. I have some friend that i talked with past few days ago, we are talking about the candidates here in qc, they are really not happy with bistek's pluder case, they told me that it is enough, it is a picture of what will bistek do if he won the as the mayor of qc, as for mike defensor i am reading blogs and polls in the net and they are not really happy about mike defensor. The main reason is the fact that he is Gloria's pet. He is clealy controlled by her. I mean...honestly? he is..right? Let's talk about the pother candidates... Annie susano and Mel Mathay... Lately there are rumors that mel mathay is backing out but it was corrected right away..i read his statement in the newspaper and clearly is a propaganda against hmi....as for annie susano...i don't know anything about her because her campaign is not really aggressive...But that's not a good thing either... I am wondering...how can we really measure?

Street food!yum!

I love street food...
Many people are questioning it's cleanliness but i love it...
i'ts in the filipino culture..i can be as equally happy when eating in a fine dining resto and eating on in the "bangketa" and munching these delicious food..plus it's cheap..

Hot Summer!

Nothing beats the summer hear but a refreshing cold drink...
I know you're experiencing the same heat as i do..but these refreshing drinks never fails to end that hot feeling...
Iced Water with lemon...that easy to do...just get a glass of water put a slice of lemon and it will give your usual iced water a diff twist.

Another thrist quencher is our old fashioned Iced tea..
Just get a bag of tea let it steep in hot water for 1-2 minutes, put it in the ref for at leat 15 - 30 minutes...add lemon, honey and sugar(optional) the for the finale put some ice and voila! Refreshment!

For the coffee lovers we can always visit any coffee shops that offers iced coffee or ice blended coffee...
example is starbucks!
I love love love their iced latte with vanilla syrup and Apple berry Juice freezed it's heaven plus i can chill out to their place for aircondition...ahahah..
If you guys felt that summer is cruel and the beach is nowhere in sight just make this refreshing drinks or have a quick stop to your favorite coffee shop or fruit shake stand!

Mel Mathay withdrawing?not true!

The rumors are not true. Mel Mathay is not backing out.
According to the newspaper that i read today, the speculations that he is withdrawing from the race for the mayoralty of Quezon City just part of a black propaganda campaign being wages by his competitors. According to the newspaper (People's journal) Mel mathay said that results of several surveys, both independent and private;y - commissioned, show him to be in second position behind Herbert Bautista.
He also said that Quezon City is facing serious problems. What the city and the people of Quezon City need are not lieas and mudslinging but real solutions and genuine leadership.
Obviously these rumors are being spread to confuse the people. But we the people of Quezon city are bright and smart, we will not be fooled by this lieas and this speculations.
We know the problems here in Quezon City and he know that what we need is solution not popularity and promises but actions.
We need a LEADER that will focus on what can he do to his city and his people not SOMEONE who focuses on making black propagandas and cannot maintain a healthy competition...
What do you think?

Simple Gesture goes a long way...

Today, me and my journalist friend went to St. Peter church in commonwealth, we attended a forum featuring the mayoral candidates of Quezon City, the title is Pasya sa Pamilya, basically the topic is about family life and following the norms of the church. Vice mayor Herbert Bautista is not there, Annie Susano is absent too. Mel Mathay, Mike Defensor and Vice Mayor candidate Janet Malaya is there to participate. It's just a short forum, less than 45 minutes. There are only 4 question for each candidate i believe. They all answered the questions according to their perception. But they all good answers.
After the question and answer portion Bishop Tobias took over and did a wonderful speech. I saw my friend on the corner where Mel Mathay is sitting, we talked about the questions and the answers of the candidates of course. I was about to leave and i wanted to shake the hand of the mayoral candidates. I approached Mr. Mel Mathay and he stand up and i shook his hand...It was a very good gesture, because he did stand up on his sit to shook my hand. I was embarrassed but again it was a good gesture. I was not able to approach Mike Defensor because there are a lot of people around him. Mel Mathay is very warm in meeting his potential voters. I was really touched by the gesture and i really appreciated it.
For those voters out there...try to attend this kind of forums or if a mayoral candidate visit your street or baranggay, try to approach them coz' you'll know from that moment if they are the leader you can depend on. A simple act or gesture speaks a lot of words. No written platform or a long memorized speech can beat that, because once you caught them off guard, that's the real them..try it and you'll see...

Too much Bistek!

A plunder case involving more than P106 million worth of public funds allegedly used on questionable food purchases was filed yesterday against Quezon City vice Mayor Hervert bautista before of the Office of the Ombudsman.
According to the newspaper i read, it was clear that the food purchases did not undergo the necessary bidding procedures as required by law. The complainant mr. Nicanor Salameda of Payatas said that there were even instances when Bautista circumvented the law by avoiding the bidding.
City Hall documents showed that almost "daily" food purchases amounting to amost 19,ooo pesos are made by bautista. Herbert Bautista made it appear that the transactions were "negotiated" contracts where were only possible when there is "immenent danger to life or property" like the occurrence of typhoons.
However, Salameda said there were no typhoons when Herbert bautista made the transactions.
"Quezon City has not beedn declared under state of calamity, or there is no known calamity that beset the city that would justify the procurement through negotiated contract. Salameda Said.

I like pulp in my Fiction!

I watched pulp fiction (again!) yesterday and it never fails to entertain me...
i love the characters and how the actor portrayedthe roles
My favorite charter inb the story is of course, Mia Wallace...
she is so much fun!! and i love her!!!
She may be a coke head...but she rocks...
I love the scene where in she excused herself to go to the ladies to room to powder her node..\
yeah..she powdered her nose...right?

Movie trivia!!
enjoy!
Jules' "Bad Motherf**ker" wallet actually belongs to Quentin Tarantino. The red convertible also belonged to Quentin, but it was stolen.

Every time you see a pack of cigarettes, it's the same brand: Red Apple.

The clocks in the pawnshop are set to 4:20. It is a widely acknowledged misconception that all of the clocks in the film are set to this time.

Mia calls Vincent "cowboy," and Vincent calls Mia "cowgirl" in return. John Travolta and Uma Thurman starred in "Urban Cowboy" and "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues," respectively.

Vincent was originally supposed to have shot Marvin twice - once accidentally in the throat, and the second to put him out of his misery; Quentin Tarantino changed it to a single-bullet killing, because he thought it would be funnier.

The passage from the Bible that Jules has memorized was mostly made up by Quentin Tarantino and Samuel L. Jackson. The only part that's similar to what the Bible says is the part where he says, "And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee." However, the parts about the righteous man and the shepherd are not real.

Mia Wallace's television pilot involved a team of 5 female secret agents (including a blond woman, an African-American woman, and a Japanese woman). Uma Thurman's next picture with Tarantino would be Kill Bill, where she was part of a team of 5 assassins (4 of which were female and, besides her, consisted of a blond woman, and African-American woman, and a half-Japanese-half-Chinese-American woman). The French Sophie character may have also been a part of the team of assassins, making it 5. Mia's pilot character's specialty was knives. The Bride's first kill in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) was with a knife.

I see ....I saw part II!

I saw this picture in a certain Blogspot...
the writer asked the people to comment on this article...it's simply asking which one of these 3 mayoral candidates will win on May 10....
there are positive and negative responses from different people...
Some are for Mike Defensor...some for Bistek and some for annie susano..
there are opinions....harsh opinions...nice opinions...neutral opinions...
but i'm wondering...
Where is Mel Mathay in this article?
How about the right of the QC people to give their thoughts about Mel Mathay?
He is also a mayoral candidate, right?
Is it an accident that he was left?
So for further info...
Mel mathay is also a candidate and he should be in this kind of Forum...
I'm not really for a certain candidate...
I'm just for fairness and just...
Equal exposure, so we can get equal opinion and equal results.right?

http://banderablogs.wordpress.com/2010/03/08/tapatan-herbert-bistek-bautista-annie-susano-at-mike-defensor/ -0-0-0-0---> check it out so we can share opinion and you'll understand what i am talking about.

Thinking and Inking!

I don't know why i just can't get myself away from the tv when the ink guys are on.
i'm just fascinated with their vintage, pin-up style and i even started liking the dragons and skulls and stuff... and for people who just can't get enough of them there are all sorts of objects printed with this kind of tattoo drawings - even a line of baby clothing!

Nice right?check it out...
MIAMI INK AND L.A. INK!

I see I saw...

QC mayoral bet Mike Defensor yesterday backed Pulse Asia for denying results of a survey which showed his comedian rival vice mayor Herbert ‘Bistek’ Bautista leading him by 6 points.
Recent published reports said a Pulse Asia February 15 survey reflected a 42.5% preference rating for Bautista against Defensor’s 36.4%
Defensor said he was glad that Pulse Asia president Ronald Homes personally denied that the firm conducted and released the survey.
“I myself was doubtful on the results of the survey because I don’t believe that my comedian rival is leading,” Defensor said.

Bakit sila lang ang showcase ng survey?dba may iba pang mga candidates like and Annie Susano and Mel Mathay?
Sana sa next Survey kung magkakarron pa makita ko naman sila dba?
para FAIR>>>Tama?Apir!

picture not so perfect

As you can see mike defensor have 3 kinds of poster...d Melmathay's poster near East wood..nilagay na niya sa mataas na lugar para hindi na matakpan...LOL! Herbert bautista is always with Joy belmonte in his posters?

Poster hunting!Mike D., B. and Mel Mathay!

Last wednesday, me and my boyfriend went out, from novaliches, to eastwood, to trinoma to bago bantay to congressional and finally home. Basically we go around Quezon city...along the way we had a little game. "Paramihan ng posters!" that's the game. we are going to count posters of the mayoral candidates and paramihan kami ng makikita...mike defensor is not hard because you can easily see him everywhere...kahit saan ka lumingin andun siya kahit sa bawal andun parin siya.we also saw some herbert baustista poster, pero lagi niyang kasama si joybelmonte...anyway the challenge is to see posters and banners of melmathay, i just don't know why the posters of mel mathay are so ...3 lang yata nakita namin...the taxi driver told us that "baka tinatakpan mga posters ni mel mathay kaya hindi makita...ganyan naman yang mga yan e.."well,that's a possibility..you know why?ung mga posters nya na nakita namin ay nakalagay sa place na hindi matatakpan...with all the mike defensor poster?na occupy na nya lahat ng pader literally. here are some sample...kumuha kami ng pictures...and naubos yata memory ng phone ko dahil sa dami ng mike defensor posters..ahahaha!

*next post are pictures of posters!

Bye Bye first.

Yesterday was my last day at work...it's my first job and i experienced a lot. I learned a lot of things from my teammates, friends at work and of course my team leaders. I spent almost 2 years of my life in that company. I had 2 Christmas, new year and 2 birthdays with them. I nevver regret anything, i had friends, i gain knowledge and i ow i wimet a lot of people. I will surely miss them...all of them...I will remember everything because. You know the feeling of sad and happy at the same time...that where im at right now and that where im going to stay for at least awhile.

Me and Mrs Jones

I love this so song...
It's so relaxing and so "swabe"
Lyrics is not applicable to me but i DIGG it! Labb Labb!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcIjxlLfcM4

Me and Mrs.Jones

We got a thing goin'on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now

We meet every day at the same cafe
Six-thirty and no one knows she'll be there
Holding hands, making all kinds of plans
While the juke box plays our favorite songs

Me and Mrs.Jones
We got a thing goin'on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now

We gotta be extra careful
That do we don't build our hopes up too high
Because she's got her own obligations
And so, and so, do I

Me and Mrs.Jones
We got a thing goin'on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now

Well, it's time for us to be leaving
It hurts so much, it hurts so much inside
Now she'll go her way snd I'll go mine
Tomorrow we'll meet
The same pklace, the same time

Me and Mrs.Jones
We got a thing goin'on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now

Bistek and Karen D.

Bautista says that they fed 2,500 and based on records, every meal cost 40 (some as high as 150 pesos per). So, 2,500 x 40= 100,000 for each meal. If they fed them thrice, that's 300,000 pesos per day.

Okey. So, for a month which includes weekends, that would only be 9 million pesos. So, for a year, that would cost the Quezon City government, 108 million pesos. The question that everybody wants to know is--why did the government spent 270 million pesos, for a feeding program which only amounted to 108 million? Where did the rest of the money go?

In this interview with Karen Davila, Herbert Bautista admits that he spent P8million to P9million a month feeding 2,500 people in a project called Halamanan at Bakuran.

Mathematics time!

Assuming that each meal costs P50, this would amount to 125,000 a day, multiplied by 24 days, this would amount to JUST P2.9 Million.

Even if they were fed twice a day, the total would be P4.8 Million a month.

The question is, where did the rest of the P8 million to P9million go?

For Glory and riches...awooo!!!

I overheard that Quezon City is the riches city in the philippines, and the budget for the city alone is whopping 10 billion pesos, there are 4 main candidates for mayoralty, Mike Defensor, Herbert bautista, Mel Mathay and Annie Susano. It seems that Mike Defensor and Herbert baustista are the most eager candidates...They've been fighting and throwing issues at each other...No wonder...It's 10 billion pesos...It's worth fighting for...= )

poster galore!

The local campaign started last march 26, but the posters of some candidates are all over Quezon City even before march 26. So far mike defensor have the most number of posters, he is all over the place!I can see him everywhere.I saw annie susanos 2 big tarpauline posters along edsa.Vice mayor Herbert Bautista have posters but he is always with joy belmonte and it's not that many. I'm trying to find a poster or any campaign paraphernalia of Mel Mathay, but i think it's poster in a place called nowhere. I wasn't able to see at least one. I don't know why,but i'm hoping to see one as soon as possible, maybe mel mathay's camp is still on the process of posting them, right? Mike defensor's posters are nice because he's pogi, but it's not enough for my vote.I want more...aahaha!

Sarurday getaway!

One hot Saturday morning....
we are on our way to laiya batangas, me and my friends decided that we need to go to the beach asap.last Saturday march 27 was the perfect day, no work and just play. It was a 4 hours travel because we got lost...ahahaha..we arrived at laiya at around 11 am My friends forgot to do a reservation at kabayan( its their choice) and the resort is fully booked, so we have no choice but to check ou other resorts, i was trying to call my friend mike pangilinan, he is the owner of punto miguel beach resort in laiya, anilao and the paraiso resort. I cant reach him and my friends decide to take a chance on one of the resorts that is available. On the way to that resort,my car experienced cruelty. The road is very very disappointing! we arrived there and one of my friends told us that the fee for the cottage is 2k (day tour only). my friends decided to take it. we are already on the said cottage and its not nice because our neighbor is very noisy and there are a lot of drunk men doing funny things, a good thing happened, mike my friend text-ed me and i told him i was calling him because in in laiya, he told me to come over so we can chat, i found him and i told him we are in a very miserable place...he offered us place to stay for the rest of the afternoon,so i told my friends to pay the cottage and let's just leave. mike prepared 2 beach beds in front of the sea so we can relax..i was so happy because he did helped us a lot...he gave us a good time and we are really thankful for his kindness...try and check out his resort...the place is nice and the people are very accommodating. We had a good time..thanks to mike.

Local Campaign experience

Last march 26 is that start for the local elections campaign,i'm expecting traffic and big crowd all over quezon city. Im on my way to trinoma because i want to watch "how to train your dragon" (a very good movie). Usually its on a 30 minute drive from our home to trinoma but that day is not my usual day, a group of van was parading along Mindanao avenue and they are causing traffic already, i arrived at trinoma 45 minutes after. That's fine with me because other candidates are doing the same thing, I took some pictures while i was stuck in the traffic and the mayoral candidate annie susano is the one roaming around the street..i did not saw her but her posters are all over the vans.I spoke to my friend from commonwealth and he told me that he saw Mel Mathay's motorcade along commonwealth, he told me that he was not sure if ara mina is with him because he is trying to spot her..hehehe...the road along commonwealth is pretty wide that why he told me he was not delayed by traffic.I'm really expecting more of this motorcade and house to house visits to promote themselves.
May the best man win!!!

*i will post the picture later..

march 20 2009, saturday...
From the moment that i woke up im very excite because it's 2nd day of the annual crocs sale
i woke up around 7:30 am, the crocs sale will open at 10 am... I was chatting with my brothers and i am encouraging them to join me because it's 90% off!!! My boyfriend, his brother and my brother went to meralco avenue @ around 8 am and along the way we ask one another,"how can we go to Mega tent??" we are so stupid maybe because of excitement....we trying to find our way to meralco avenue a policeman stop us and told us that we violated on of the traffic rules...i was furious because he is accusing me of recless driving!!!i told manong police that i'm just lost...but he doesn't want to hear it. but i did not back down..i insist then manong police said ang kulit ko daw...so he set us free...we arrived at megatent around 9:30 am, i was shocked because the line is exaggerated and we need to be in the line too...there are no tents and we are exposed to the scorching sun...when we are just about 50 people away from the entrance(yey!) my nose bled..and i feel dizzy..but nevermind.. i'm going to get my crocs...when we are already inside...people are like ants searching for food...they are opening boxes that should not be open...it was hot and the people are on fire!!!the prices are good...the maryjanes are available in size 10 only...lucky for mr it's my size..it's 300 pesos ony..the high heel sandals is 500 and the other flipflops is 999...i spent at least 2 hours fighting over diff colors and finding sizes for me...i got myself 3 maryjanes and a nice slippers for my mom..i was about to pay and the cashier area is filled with people....i spent another hour just to pay...(sigh) i noticed that some of them bought a lot!like boxes of sandals and stuff..and i though maybne they are going to resell it...nice ideaq right?my boyfriend his brother nad my brother was not able to buy anything because they told me that the available sizes for men are only 14 and up.,.i was so tired and i want to take a bath because it's so hot and im feeling very sticky.i was so tired!!!On the way home, we passed along cubao and it's so traffic all the way to Quezon ave..(what's new?right?) i was driving and i just want to scream....we decided to stop by at trinoma mall to relax because we figured that it's still hot at home. i just want to sleep...but i cant..too bad...i just said to myselfg that i got the mayjanes for 300 only...and it was worth it...

Multipy Alarm

Today is my rest day, 2 days of work free day...Since i'm free today i went to the nearest mall. SM North Edsa is the place! The crowd is big and there are students everywhere! Maybe because it's the last day of school. I watched everybody, I'm very critical on what i see because i'm a visual person. I checked out the groups, the way they dress, stores that have more customers. I'm very observant, it is my hobby since i'm in the advertising field. I need to be curious and critical. After countless hours of walking and "spotting" i got tired and decided to go to one to my friend's house in project 8 to refresh and to chat. I went to my car and I had a tough time on deciding which way to go since my brain cells got tired too..(Information Overload!) On my way to my friend's place in proj 8 QC, I passed through congressional...then i was like OMG! There are "mini houses" in the middle of the road after the Culiat bridge, i saw them before, but that time there was like 3 houses only...it's just like weeks ago and now there are like 7 - 10 houses! Little kids are crossing the street freely as if they are in a park and there are number of water containers in front of their houses . I know it's really bothering, because you can hit them anytime and if you do it's still your fault and that too bad!
I believe that this squatter's houses are built after the Ondoy storm but they are already multiplying...It's a scary thought that one day you see the whole street filled with this mini houses... I hope that other people are noticing this, and it's not just me.
People...something needs to be done... If i can post pictures i'll do it,so you'll see what I'm talking about...
I hope this post will reach the PEOPLE that can take care of this problem. Action required!
Peace XOXO

The Mayoralty forum

A very interesting event happened yesterday at QC Polytechnic University,. Early that morning, students, teachers and residents of Quezon city are allowed to participate. All running for the position as mayor of Quezon City was invited. They are Mike Defensor, Mel Mathay, Ariel Inton, Annie Susano and Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista. Mel Mathay and Mike Defensor are the only candidates that showed up yesterday, they had the privilege to connect with the people of Quezon City and give the people of QC a glimpse of their platforms and plans if they were elected in the said position. The question raised by students and teachers are pretty common, they are the usual problem of every city, there are questions about the city budget, educational programs, criminal rate, poverty etc. However there are some questions that intrigued me, an example of this "question" is Can they do what Mayor Sonny Belmonte did to Quezon City for his 9 years of service? Can they Do better? Of course the answer is pretty obvious, they said that they will try their best to do more for the people of Quezon City.

As what i observed from these 2 candidates, the way they answer the questions are different. Mr. Mel Mathay is very precise and specific, while Mr. Defensor is always looking for the big picture. They have different approach and they are answering things in a different manner and in different perspective. Mr. Mel Mathay is giving examples on what to do to the city's little needs that can make a big difference, like helping out the sari sari store owners to improve the livelihood of the residents of Quezon City which is i think is good because i'm a believer that we should attend to the little things first, so we can have a better view of the big picture. As they say Big things come in small packages. He is direct to the point in answering questions. In the other hand, Mr. Defensor is very good in research, he is mentioning the percentage of businesses and the latest trends that can affect Quezon City. Mel Mathay is not into research since he is not mentioning any percentages etc, he is getting his answer on how he knows the people of Quezon City since he was in the position before. He also said that he is not really into labels because what is important is the fact that he knows he was able to help and serve.

I would like to treat these candidates as Brands like Pampers, Tide, Colgate etc. They have their own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. They have competitors and target market to analyze. As a brand they have messages to deliver, so their consumers will stay loyal and new consumers will be curious to try them. Mel Mathay is no different. He is just like a trusted product/brand before who is out in the market for awhile and he is making a come back. As we all know a Brand is promise, and it should be delivered by experience, In this case, Mel Mathay does have experience.

Feel free to give more information or comment. Let's help one another for a better future. The future of Quezon City is in our hands.

Random thought

I was going home from work and i stopped by at 7/11 in Tandang Sora, quezon city. I noticed that there are kids around 8-11 years old, they are still on the street and they are playing with coins, i know that this is a normal scene but somehow i had this thought, is the world going to be a better place without them on the street? One though followed another..then a question suddenly pops. What is the root of this?Is it because of their parents, it is because of the government, it is because of their environment. It's sad and as i what i said, Its been like this for the longest time...why is it that nobody is taking care of this problem...they should be sleeping..getting ready for school tomorrow morning...this is just a random thought...a simple question in mind.
